All You Need Is On These CDs

NEWLY UPDATED FOR 2002!

I have appropriated the old Beatles CD reissues slogan for the name of this list of Sheryl Crow CDs that presents a list of everything you need to have every Sheryl Crow track ever issued internationally. It also works as an annotated discography, though I will likely skip some releases (be it by laziness, accident or lack of information). For a little bit of stuff that isn't musically necessary, but notable for its strangeness or total pointlessness, take a look at my Sheryl Oddities page. If you want just a bare bones list of tracks, with no notes at all, look at this page. I hope this guide is complete, but if it is missing anything, let me know.

Remember, this list only includes tracks issued on CD. For cassette only material (just the Unreleased 1992 LP), and video only (be it LD or DVD) material, see the FULL(ish) track-by-track discography or the Song List.

US Releases

Since there is a thorough US discography at another location on my site, I will mainly include US releases that include tracks otherwise unavailable. For tracks that are also on import discs, the US releases will be referred to in the annotation to the import.

Point Break- Music From The Motion Picture (MCA Records, MCAD 10202; US Various Artists CD, 1991)

Hundreds Of Tears

This song is only available commercially on this CD. Even if the album it was to come from (Sheryl Crow's original canceled debut LP from 1992) had been released, this CD would still be necessary, as this is a totally alternate mix from the one that was planned for the LP.

Run Baby Run (31458 8163 2; US Promo Single, 1993)

Single Version/LP Version

Includes the single edit of "Run Baby Run", also available on several UK singles.

Leaving Las Vegas (31458 8208 2; US Promo Single)

Radio Fade/LP Version

Includes the radio fade of "Leaving Las Vegas"

All I Wanna Do (31458 8317 2; US Promo Single, 1994)

Live/Remix/Remix (No LA Version)

Includes the "No LA Version" of "All I Wanna Do". This is the "Remix" version (available on several other CDs) with 3 seconds edited from it to remove the line "this is LA".

If I Were A Carpenter (31454 0258 2; US Various Artists CD, 1994)

Solitaire

This track is only available on this Carpenters tribute, which was also released internationally.

Can’t Cry Anymore (31458 1081 2; US Single, 1995)

Can’t Cry Anymore/No One Said It Would Be Easy (Live At The Empire)/What I Can Do For You(Live At The Empire)/I Shall Believe(Live At The Empire)

Does not contain anything unavailable elsewhere, but notable as a much easier to find source for the last two tracks, otherwise only available on the UK double CD of "Tuesday Night Music Club" (540 126 2/540 368 2). This "No One Said It Would Be Easy" is on a "Can't Cry Anymore" UK single (581 057 2.)

Broadcasts Vol. 2 (Strait Music Company; US Various Artists CD, 1995)

Leaving Las Vegas (KGSR version)

The only way to get this live acoustic radio version of the track is to find this regional various artists CD, distributed in Austin Texas, to raise money for the Travis County Child Advocacy Center. The track was recorded about a year previous to this release, on March 10, 1994. Pretty tough to find, particularly because it also features Sarah McLachlan and Tori Amos with exclusive tracks.

Live at the World Cafe, Vol. One (WC9501; US Various Artists CD, 1995)

Leaving Las Vegas (WXPN World Cafe version)

Another very rare radio station charity CD, featuring a nice 1994 acoustic version of her then-current single.

The Best Of Studio C, Vol. 5 (US Various Artists CD, 1995)

Strong Enough (KBCO version)

This CD features a radio recording of "Strong Enough" done in mid 1994 for 97.3 KBCO in Boulder, Colorado. The track is also available on The Best Of Studio C, Volume 7. The CD was distributed regionally in Boulder.

99x Live X II "One Life" (US Various Artists CD, 1995)

All I Wanna Do (99x version)

Includes an exclusive version of "All I Wanna Do", taped for 99x radio in Atlanta.

Y100 Sonic Sessions Vol. 1 (US Various Artists CD, 1995)

Strong Enough (Y100)

Features a special version of "Strong Enough" recorded at Y100, Philadelphia.

Pavarotti & Friends for War Child (London 452 900-2; US/UK Various Artists CD, 1996)

Run Baby Run (live in Italy, with Eric Clapton)

La Ci Darem La Mano (live in Italy, with Luciano Pavarotti)

This CD has an exclusive live version of Run Baby Run, and Sheryl's only commercial recording of An Italian language Opera track.

Q107's Concerts In The Sky: The Campfire Versions (MCA Records MCAMD 81003; Canadian Various Artists CD, 1996)

Run Baby Run (Q107 version)

This Canadian CD, distributed by a Toronto radio station, should more appropriately be below in the foreign section, but, well, it's not. Anyway, this disc features Sheryl performing "Run Baby Run" live acoustically on the Six O'Clock Rock Report" show in early 1994. Unavailable on anything else, anywhere in the world.

Live On Letterman-Music From The Late Show (Reprise Records, 9 46827 2; US Various Artists CD, 1997)

Strong Enough (live on Letterman)

This version, recorded on the David Letterman US TV show in 1995, is only on this CD.

Z100 Morning Zoo Bootleg (Z100 FM CD 009; US Various Artists CD, 1997)

If It Makes You Happy (Z100 live version)

This disc was released to Portland, Oregon area record stores as a charity disc. It includes a live version of "If It Makes You Happy" done at a special performance in Oregon. The remainder of this disc is mainly radio comedy spots. This disc was only distributed for a limited time (and only in the Portland area) and is thus quite difficult to find.

Home (AMCDP 00518; US Promo Single, 1997)

Home (Fade)/Home

This American promo CD includes the "Home" radio edit, also on the UK promo for "Home" (HOME CD1).

A Very Special Christmas 3 (31454 0764 2; US Various Artists CD, 1997)

Blue Christmas

This track is only on this CD. It is a remake of the Elvis Presley track.

The Best Of Studio C, Vol. 9 (US Various Artists CD, 1997)

Home (KBCO version)

The original source for Sheryl's KBCO radio version of "Home" is on this regionally distributed charity disc. Now it is also available on Best of Studio C, Vol. 12: Retrospective 2, released in 2001.

ONXRT Live from the Archives Volume 4 (93XRT, no cat. number; US Various Artists CD, 1998)

Leaving Las Vegas (ONXRT live version)

This radio station charity disc features a live Sheryl performance from the March 12, 1997 XRT 25th Anniversary Free Concert at Park West, Chicago.

The Peak Lounge: Live Tracks Volume 2 (Peak Foundation PPND965; US Various Artists CD, 1998)

Home (96.5 version)

This rare radio station charity disc (aren't you sick of all the listings that start like that?) was available from 96.5 The Peak, in Denver. (Yes, what with KBCO and 96.5, Coloradans sure seem spoiled to me!

99X LIVE X IV "Home" (WNNX5, US Various Artists CD, 1999)

Home (99X version)

At least this time it's the folks in Atlanta, rather than Denver, who get an exclusive acoustic version of "Home" on a (say it with me, folks) radio station charity disc. This one is in one of those GD half-plastic, half-digipack cases.

Burt Bacharach-One Amazing Night (N2K Encoded Music, N2K 10008; US Various Artists CD, 1998)

One Less Bell To Answer

This CD features Sheryl Crow singing this Burt Bacharach song, live from the "One Amazing Night" US TV special.

Launch CD Rom Magazine, Volume 20 (US Various Artists, 1998)

My Favorite Mistake (solo keyboard version)

This US CD Rom magazine included an interview with Sheryl Crow as well as a version of "My Favorite Mistake" featuring just Sheryl on a keyboard. This track was included as the one music CD track on the disc, and has not appeared anywhere else.

There Goes The Neighborhood (AMCDP 00800; US Promo Single, 1998)

Radio Edit/Alternate Radio Edit/LP Version

Includes a different "Radio Edit" than "Radio Edit #1" (released on the UK "There Goes The Neighborhood" singles). This edit is on the UK (588 628 2) and Mexican (CDP 00127 2) promos as "Radio Edit #2. Listed because it features the otherwise unavailable "Alternate Radio Edit", which fades the vocal track to remove the word "acid" from the line "I dropped acid on a Saturday night".

AT&T Presents Stormy Weather (AT&T Worldnet Software, Various Artists, February 1999)

Good Morning Heartache

This CD, distributed to some AT&T customers, is the only release of this Sheryl track recorded at the concert for Walden Woods, the previous year.

Sweet Child O' Mine (American Records CSK 42160, US Promo Single, June 1999)

Rock Mix/Pop Mix

Includes both promo mixes of this track, recorded for the Big Daddy soundtrack. It is currently the only way to get this track in its "Pop Mix" or it's "Rock Mix". A third mix of the track (not on this promo), is on the Big Daddy soundtrack, reissues of The Globe Sessions, and on an A&M records in-store promo, as well as on two UK singles.

Sweet Child O' Mine (A&M Records/Sony Music # INT5P-6635, US In Store Promo, June 1999)

Sweet Child O' Mine

This promo, being given out in American record stores to people who purchase a copy of The Globe Sessions that does not feature the track, includes the release version (similar to the "Pop Mix" but, lasting 3:51, as opposed to 3:58 on the promo "Pop Mix"). This disc is very easy to tell apart from the two track promo, as that one features a picture of a scene from Big Daddy, while this one track disc features a picture of Sheryl. This version of the track is also on Big Daddy.

The Globe Sessions (US "REISSUE", due July 6, 1999; released July 13, 1999)

[bonus track] Sweet Child O' Mine

A&M (now actually Interscope) issued new US copies of Sheryl's third LP with this track added to it in an attempt to boost sales. Between the time it was announced and the time this disc was issued, the above in-store promo was distributed to those who bought old copies of The Globe Sessions. It is the mix on the A&M promo (the same mix on the Big Daddy soundtrack, but different from the two track American Records promo) that is included.

Return of the Grievous Angel: A Tribute to Gram Parsons (Almo Sounds AMSD-80024; US Various Artists CD, 1999)

Juanita (with Emmylou Harris)

This CD features a beautiful duet with Emmylou Harris on one of late, great Flying Burrito Brother Gram Parsons' classic songs.

The Difficult Kind (US Promo, 1999)

The Difficult Kind (edit)/The Difficult Kind

This US promo, from July 1999, is the only available source for the 4:35 edit of "The Difficult Kind".

A Very Special Christmas: Live In Washington, D.C. (US various artists CD, 1999)

Merry Christmas Baby

This performance recorded live in Washington (at a Presidential benefit concert) in 1998 was released for Christmas, 1999.

Woodstock '99 (US various artists CD, 1999)

If It Makes You Happy (Woodstock '99)

This is the only appearance so far of any of Sheryl's gig at Woodstock '99.

Pointfolio 1.0: A Live Music Compilation (Audio House, Inc. 70440; US Various Artists CD, 1999)

My Favorite Mistake (104.1 version)

This disc, issued November 15th, 1999 for Minneapolis radio station 104.1 The Point , features a beautiful acoustic version of "My Favorite Mistake". If you can only get one of these radio charity discs, I'd say get this one, for a wonderful and unique performance.

Broadcasts Vol. 7 (Strait Music Company, US various artists CD, 1999)

Anything But Down (KGSR version)

This CD released on November 25, 1999, has this acoustic radio track, unavailable anywhere else. It is distinguishable from other released radio versions of the track by its fairly bass heavy intro and quite a bit of room echo on her vocal, and her voice cracking during the last "...killing time".

KFOG 104.5/97.7 Live from the Archives 6 (KFOG ARCH6-2; US Various Artists CD, 1999)

Anything But Down (KFOG version)

A second acoustic version of "Anything But Down" from legendary San Fransisco radio station KFOG. This one, recorded April 12, 1999, was also released by Star 98.7, a Los Angeles station, on '99 Star Lounge Collection around the same time. I prefer the Star Lounge release, even though it isn't the original release, because it is in a jewel case, rather than a digipack.

Channel 103.1 Special Selections Vol. 1 (SBR Creative Media, no cat. number; US Various Artists CD, 1999)

Anything But Down (103.1 Version)

This one can be easiest distinguished by having a count in. Another radio station charity release from 1999, another appearance of an acoustic version of this track. This station is in Southern California.

Cities Sampler, Vol. 11 (KTCZ 97.1, no cat. number; US Various Artists CD, 1999)

Anything But Down (KTCZ 97.1 version)

Another (yes, ANOTHER!) exclusive acoustic version of "Anything But Down". This one, from Cities 97 in Minnesota, can be quickest distinguished by being the only one that fades during the decay, rather than letting the song come to a natural ending.

VH1 Storytellers (Interscope Records 0694905112; US Various Artists CD, 2000)

Strong Enough (Storytellers version, with Stevie Nicks)

This CD includes one track from Sheryl's phenomenal 1998 Storytellers appearance. Too bad it seems that the "all -star factor" forced this track, with features legendary Fleetwood Mac vocalist, Stevie Nicks, to be released, because Sheryl's version of "Ode to Billy Jo", a song which she has otherwise not covered, and her country version of "If It Makes You Happy" from this show were much more interesting and unique. Maybe there'll be a Volume 2... :)

TODAY Presents: The Best of the Summmer Concert Series, Volume One (NBC Records 6747 9 75004 2 7; US Various Artists CD, 2000)

If It Makes You Happy (live on TODAY)

This CD features a live version of IIMYH from Sheryl's August 6, 1999 appearance on this popular US morning news show.

All Access: Front Row. Backstage. Live! (MCA MCAR-25431-2; US Various Artists CD, 2001)

If It Makes You Happy (IMAX live version)

This CD, a Verizon/MCA promo, was given to promote the IMAX film All Access, in which Sheryl performs an exclusive version of "If It Makes You Happy".

Groundwork: Act to Reduce Hunger (Starbucks/Hear Music; US Various Artists CD, 2001)

Everyday is a Winding Road (Groundwork live version)

A live version of EDiaWR is on this CD, sold at Starbucks and Hear Music stores, to raise money for an anti-hunger program.

Music from the Motion Picture Bridget Jones's Diary (Island 314 548 797-2; US Soundtrack CD, 2001)

Kiss That Girl

Sheryl does an excellent otherwise unheard Crow original. The UK version of this CD has different songs in some places, and a different cover, but the Sheryl track is the same. Interestingly, the track was mixed by a man named David Tickle. (I kid you not!)

Substitute: The Songs of the Who (Edel Entertainment ED183022; US Various Artists CD, 2001)

Behind Blue Eyes

When this one was first announced, I was surprised she didn't go for "Squeeze Box", what with her affinity for that song's accordion part. I'm glad she chose this one, though, because she gives it a *great* reading.

The Best of Sessions at West 54th (Columbia/Legacy CK 63702; US Various Artists CD, 2001)

Everyday is a Winding Road (live at West 54th)

Finally, a commercial release of Sheryl's excellent performance on this PBS show, recorded *way* back on July 25th, 1997.

Hank Williams: Timeless (Lost Highway Records 088 170 239-2; US Various Artists CD, 2001)

Long Gone Lonesome Blues

I've gotta say, this is a track that was a pleasant surprise. As a big fan of Hank Sr., I have grown accustomed to hearing many of his more forgotten hits (such as this 1950 gem) courtesy of wax recordings made over half a century ago. For fans of Hank's music, those recordings, primitive though they are, can sometimes take on an almost religious sublimeness. I was very hesitant to buy a CD of a bunch of today's crass, commercial stars covering these tracks. (not that Sheryl is crass and commercial - you know what I mean!) When I first saw Sheryl was covering this one, I wasn't sure she could pull it off, but from the reverently twangy guitar intro, to Sheryl's matching Hank yodel per yodel, she really captures the essence of this song. No wonder she was nominated for a 2002 Grammy for this performance!

Good Rockin' Tonight: The Legacy of Sun Records (Sire Records 311650-2; US Various Artists CD, 2001)

Who Will the Next Fool Be?

Another excellent Sheryl reading of a song first recorded before she was even born. This CD is the companion disc to an American Masters documentary of the same name.

A Very Special Christmas 5 (A&M Records 06949 3138 2; US Various Artists CD, 2001)

Run Rudolph Run

Another year, another Very Special Christmas CD. This time Sheryl turns in a cover of this Chuck Berry seasonal classic. I know Sheryl thought about doing a covers album in 2000, and then thought better of the idea, but her work in the last couple of years really shows that she should.

Playin' With My Friends: Bennett Sings the Blues (Columbia CK 85833; US Tony Bennett CD, 2001)

Good Morning, Heartache (duet with Tony Bennett)

Sheryl's second, and much more readily available, version of this track. I myself am not a great Tony Bennett fan, but I must say, they sound really good together!

America: A Tribute to Heroes (Joint Network Benefit (mfg. by Universal) 0694931882; US Various Artists CD, 2001)

Safe and Sound (telethon version)

This is the one CD I would rather never had to exist. I think you can figure out why. September 11th aside, this was the first look at Sheryl's 2002 LP, then still untitled. A beautiful and appropriate tribute to the memories of all we lost.

I Am Sam: Music from and Inspired By the Motion Picture (V2 Records 63881-27119-2; US Soundtrack CD, 2002)

Mother Nature's Son

Sheryl does yet another reverent and fairly straight cover of a classic song. When the recipe is already right, Sheryl knows not to mess with it, as seen by her interpretation of this 1968 McCartney gem.

Soak Up The Sun (AMRR-10707-2, US promo single, 2002)

Soak Up the Sun (Radio Edit)

Here we go again! This promo for "Soak Up the Sun", or SUtS, as it is (slightly obscenely, I think!) refered to, has a radio edit which won't be on the new album.

Foreign Singles

Run Baby Run (580 381 2; UK Single, 1993)

Run Baby Run/All By Myself/The Na Na Song/Reach Around Jerk

This disc, with a red border, and photo of Sheryl kneeling at a beach, was the first commercial Sheryl single anywhere. It is horribly hard to find, and all of the tracks can be found elsewhere. The two non-TNMC tracks, "All By Myself" and "Reach Around Jerk", both TNMC studio outtakes, can be found on the later, green covered "Run Baby Run" single (580 569 2), and other places. This "Run Baby Run" is the single edit, also on the US promo, and all other UK "Run Baby Run" singles. See the entry for the green covered "Run Baby Run" for more details.

What I Can Do For You (580 463 2; UK Single, 1993)

What I Can Do For You (Radio Edit)/What I Can Do For You (LP Version)/Volvo Cowgirl 99/I Shall Believe

Necessary for the studio version of “Volvo Cowgirl 99”. The only non TNMC version otherwise on this CD is “What I Can Do For You (Radio Edit)”, which would later appear on the much more common 1995 “What I Can Do For You” UK single (581 221 2). You can also find "Volvo Cowgirl 99" on the Autralian 14 track version of TNMC.

Leaving Las Vegas (580 497 2; Australian Single, 1994)

Leaving Las Vegas (Radio Edit)/The Na Na Song/Reach Around Jerk

Not particularly necessary, but features a quite stunning photo, and art used on no other release. It is in a paper sleeve, and does feature the radio edit of "Leaving Las Vegas", useful in case you can't find the US promo. Also, the version of "Reach Around Jerk" is the studio version, useful if you can't find either early "Run Baby Run" UK single.

Run Baby Run (580 569 2; UK Single, 1994)

Run Baby Run/Leaving Las Vegas (acoustic version)/All By Myself/Reach Around Jerk

This disc is a source for the studio version of “Reach Around Jerk”, as well as “All By Myself” (both on “Strong Enough”, 580 921 2), as well as the single edit of "Run Baby Run". These two tracks, combined with the above take of “Volvo Cowgirl 99”, are the only released outtakes from the TNMC sessions. “Leaving Las Vegas (acoustic version)” was recorded at KMTT Radio, on December 6, 1993, and is different from the “Leaving Las Vegas” later issued on the “All I Wanna Do” (580 845 2) UK single and the “Strong Enough” (580 883 2) single from the US and Germany. This version, is, however, available on a US promo single (“Leaving Las Vegas” 31458 8261 2). This disc is instantly recognizable from the first "Run Baby Run", as this one features a green background, and Sheryl seated, with a guitar. There is also an issue of this disc from Holland which, instead of featuring the lettering on the disc on a black background, features a white background. Other than this disc difference, the actual artwork is identical.

Leaving Las Vegas (580 645 2; UK single, 1994)

Leaving Las Vegas/I Shall Believe (live in Nashville)/What I Can Do For You (live)

This UK digipack single, part one of a two part set, is specially designed to hold both parts of the set. Musically, it includes “I Shall Believe” from Nashville, later available on the “Australian Tour Edition” double cd set of “Tuesday Night Music Club” (540 348 2), as well as the Japanese double CD set (POCM 9009/10), and the German “All I Wanna Do” (580 655 2). Perhaps the easiest way to find this track, though, is on the part one “Run Baby Run” UK Single (581 147 2), released in 1995. This live version of “What I Can Do For You”, from the Borderline Club, is on the UK “Cant Cry Anymore” (581 057 2) released in 1995, as well as the German “All I Wanna Do” (580 655 2). The promo version of the UK issue is quite notable in that it is in a slimline case, rather than a fragile little digipack!

Leaving Las Vegas Live (580 647 2; UK Single, 1994)

Leaving Las Vegas (live in Nashville)/No One Said It Would Be Easy (live in Nashville)/The Na Na Song(live in Nashville)

This is part two of the Leaving Las Vegas set, all tracks recorded in Nashville. “Leaving Las Vegas” is on the aforementioned Australian double CD (540 348 2), as well as the Japanese double cd TMNC, which, musically, is identical to the Australian disc. The other two tracks are on 1995s part two of “Run Baby Run” (581 149 2), while “No One Said It Would Be Easy” is also on a 1995 UK “Can’t Cry Anymore” ( 581 057 2), as well as the 1996 US four track “If It Makes You Happy” (31458 1875 2)), and UK Run Baby Run, part two (581 149 2) from 1995.

All I Wanna Do (580 655 2; German Single, 1994)

All I Wanna Do/I Shall Believe (live)/What I Can Do For You (live)

This CD is a very convenient substitute for the digipack “Leaving Las Vegas” (580 645 2), as it includes both non LP tracks featured on it, and is infinitely easier to find. Probably the most heavily imported foreign single into the US, due to A&M America’s refusal to issue a commercial single for the hit track. This disc was also issued in Australia, but in a paper sleeve, instead of a slimline case. It bears the same catalog number, and is, other than the means of packaging, virtually identical.

All I Wanna Do (Remix) (580 843 2; UK Single, 1994)

All I Wanna Do (remix)/Solidify/I’m Gonna Be A Wheel Someday

Features the remix of “All I Wanna Do” also on two different American promos for the track (31458 8298 2 and 31458 8317 2), a well as UK “Can’t Cry Anymore (581 055 2). “I’m Gonna Be A Wheel Someday”, would later appear on the UK “What I Can Do For You” (581 221 2) and the US various artists LP “Fast Track To Nowhere”. This track would also wind up on 1996’s four track US “If It Makes You Happy” single (31458 1875 2).

All I Wanna Do (580 845 2; UK Single, 1994)

All I Wanna Do/Run Baby Run/Leaving Las Vegas

This CD features three tracks recorded in acoustic versions for Virgin Radio UK. The German “Strong Enough” (580 883 2), and its US copy, would include the track “Leaving Las Vegas”. The other tracks would only appear on this disc.

Strong Enough (580 883 2; German Single, 1994)

Strong Enough/All I Wanna Do (live)/Reach Around Jerk (live version)/Leaving Las Vegas (live)

In addition to including the Virgin Radio UK version of “Leaving Las Vegas” (also on “All I Wanna Do, 580 845 2), this disc has “Reach Around Jerk” from the Borderline Club, and “All I Wanna Do” from Nashville. “All I Wanna Do” from Nashville can be obtained several other ways: the UK “Strong Enough”, part two (580 919 2); and the US “All I Wanna Do” promo in a stickered slimline case (31458 8317 2). “Reach Around Jerk” from the Borderline is only available on this release. If the German version of this single is hard to find, one can buy the US single “Strong Enough” (31458 0866 2), which, other than a slight difference in the graphics, is exactly the same.

Strong Enough (580 921 2; UK Single, 1995)

Strong Enough/All By Myself/Strong Enough (live at the Borderline)/Reach Around Jerk

A much easier to find source for the two outttake tracks, both previously released on UK “Run Baby Run” ( 580 569 2; UK Single, 1994). This live version of “Strong Enough” is only available on this CD, which is packaged in a double gatefold digipack, like “Leaving Las Vegas”, part one.

Strong Enough (580 919 2; UK SIngle, 1995)

Strong Enough/No One Said It Would Be Easy/All I Wanna Do (live in Nashville)

CD two to the UK “Strong Enough” set features two LP tracks, and the version of “All I Wanna Do” previously issued on the German and US “Strong Enough” singles, as well as a US “All I Wanna Do” promo (31458 8317 2).

Can’t Cry Anymore (581 055 2; UK Single, 1995)

Can’t Cry Anymore/All I Wanna Do (remix)/Strong Enough (US radio version)/We Do What We Can

Features the remix version of “All I Wanna Do” already issued on UK “All I Wanna Do” (580 843 2), and both US promos for the track. Also on this disc is the “US radio version” of “Strong Enough”, only otherwise available on the US stickered jewel case promo for “Strong Enough” (31458 8407 2), though on that release it is called the “Radio Compressed Mix”.

Can’t Cry Anymore (581 057 2; UK Single, 1995)

Can’t Cry Anymore/What I Can Do For You (live at the Borderline)/No One Said It Would Be Easy (live in Nashville)/I Shall Believe (live at Shepherd’s Bush Empire)

This CD has the same version of “What I Can Do For You” as is on part one of the UK “Leaving Las Vegas” (580 645 2). This “No One Said It Would Be Easy” is on part two of the “Leaving Las Vegas” set (580 647 2), as well as the 1996 US four track “If It Makes You Happy” (31458 1875 2), and UK Run Baby Run, part two (581 149 2), from 1995. “I Shall Believe” from Shepherds Bush Empire is also on the US "Can't Cry Anymore" commercial single (31458 1081 2), and the UK 2 CD "Tuesday Night Music Club.

Run Baby Run (581 147 2; UK Single, 1995)

Run Baby Run/Can’t Cry Anymore (live in Nashville)/Reach Around Jerk (live in Nashville)/I Shall Believe (live in Nashville)

This specially packaged CD, part one of a two CD “Live In Nashville” set, features three live track which are also on the Australian Tour Edition double CD set of “Tuesday Night Music Club” (540 348 2), and the single edit of "Run Baby Run".

Run Baby Run (581 149 2; UK Single, 1995)

Run Baby Run/Strong Enough (live in Nashville)/No One Said It Would Be Easy (live in Nashville)/The Na Na Song (live in Nashville)

This CD features a version of “Strong Enough” that is on the Australian Tour Edition of “Tuesday Night Music Club” (540 348 2), as well as a version of “No One Said It Would Be Easy”, which is also on “Leaving Las Vegas” (580 647 2), “Can’t Cry Anymore” (581 057 2), and the US four track “If It Makes You Happy”. “The Na Na Song” is also on the same “Leaving Las Vegas” CD. Also featured is the single edit of "Run Baby Run".

All I Wanna Do (SHERY2 2; Spanish Promo Single, 1995)

All I Wanna Do/All I Wanna Do (beat version)

Two totally exclusive acoustic live versions of “All I Wanna Do” are on this Spanish promo CD, released shortly after Sheryl performed the two tracks for a Spanish radio station. The so called “beat version” is the song performed in her “Unplugged” arrangement, the only legitimate release of this slow arrangement of the track.

What I Can Do For You (581 221 2; UK Single, 1995)

What I Can Do For You (UK edit)/D’yer Mak’er/I’m Gonna Be A Wheel Someday/No One Said It Would Be Easy

This “UK edit” of the title track is also on the early “What I Can Do For You” single (580 463 2), but is called the “Radio Edit”. D’yer Mak'er is from the “Encomium: A Tribute To Led Zeppelin” various artists CD. “I’m Gonna Be A Wheel Someday” had already been released on the various artists “Fast Track To Nowhere” CD, as well as a UK “All I Wanna Do” single (580 843 2), and would appear again on the US four track “If It Makes You Happy” single.

What I Can Do For You (581 229 2; UK Single, 1995)

What I Can Do For You (live)/All I Wanna Do (live)/Strong Enough (live)/Can’t Cry Anymore (live)

Four totally exclusive tracks recorded at a Spanish concert in May, 1995. This CD is packaged in a special digipack with a mini calendar for 1995-96.

If It Make You Happy (581 903 2; UK Single, 1996)

If It Makes You Happy (edit)/All I Wanna Do/Run Baby Run/Leaving Las Vegas

This digipack CD includes the single edit of "If It Makes You Happy", also on the UK promo (588 492 2) and US promo (AMCDP 00303) and the US two track "If It Makes You Happy" single (31458 1874 2).

If It Makes You Happy (581 885 2; UK Single, 1996)

If It Makes You Happy/On The Outside/Keep On Growing/The Book

Includes "Keep On Growing", also both US "If It Makes You Happy" singles, and the US various artists soundtrack to "Boys On the Side". "On The Outside" comes from the US various artists "Songs In The Key Of X" CD.

Everyday Is A Winding Road (582 021 2; UK Single, 1996)

Everyday Is A Winding Road/Strong Enough/Can't Cry Anymore/What I Can Do For You

All tracks are in their respective album versions on this digipack single.

Everyday Is A Winding Road (582 023 2; UK Single, 1996)

Everyday Is A Winding Road/If It Makes You Happy/All I Wanna Do/Run Baby Run

The final three songs on this single are versions from the BBC Simon Mayo show, and are only available on this CD.

Everyday Is A Winding Road (582 049 2; German Single, 1996)

Everyday Is A Winding Road/Free Man/Run Baby Run/Ordinary Morning

"Free Man" is also on several versions of the "Sheryl Crow" album. See the "Foreign LPs" section for more information. "Run Baby Run" on this CD is taken from the various artists "Woodstock '94" CD, and features Sheryl at that event. This disc can be found in two, drastically different, cover variations. One, the early pressing, features the same cover art as the UK "Everyday Is A Winding Road" singles, while a later pressing features the cover art of the commercial US singles. Both are relatively hard to find.

Hard To Make A Stand (582 149 2; UK Single, 1997)

Hard To Make A Stand/Sad Sad World/No One Said It Would Be Easy/If It Makes You Happy

The final two tracks are live from the Shepherds Bush Empire in 1996. The last track is also on the "Sheryl Crow-Special Edition" import 2CD, while Sad Sad World is on several discs, for full information on its releases, see the entry for the German edition of "Sheryl Crow". This live "No One Said It Would Be Easy" is only on this release.

Hard To Make A Stand (582 147 2; UK Single, 1997)

Hard To Make A Stand/Hard To Make A Stand (alternate version)/Hard To Make A Stand (Simon Mayo session)/In Need

This digipack single includes "Hard To Make A Stand" from the Simon Mayo BBC show, only on this release. The "Alternate version" of this track is also on German copies of the CD "Sheryl Crow". In Need was also issued on the four track US "Everyday Is A Winding Road" single(31458 2033 2). This "In Need" is a different take to that released in 1998.

A Change Would Do You Good (582 271 2; UK Single, 1997)

A Change Would Do You Good/Everyday Is A Winding Road/If It Makes You Happy/Hard To Make A Stand

This "limited edition greatest hits collection" digipack is totally unnecessary musically.

A Change Would Do You Good (582 209 2; UK Single, 1997)

A Change Would Do You Good/Hard To Make A Stand/On The Outside/A Change Would Do You Good (live)

The final three tracks on this CD are live versions recorded at the Shepherds Bush Empire in 1996. Except for the live "A Change...", which is unavailable elsewhere, these tracks are on the German "Sheryl Crow-Special Edition" 2CD, and "On The Outside" is also on the four track US "Everyday Is A Winding Road".

A Change Would Do You Good (582 217 2; UK Single, 1997)

A Change Would Do You Good/Everyday Is A Winding Road/Can't Cry Anymore/Leaving Las Vegas

The last three tracks are live from the Shepherds Bush Empire in 1996. They are all on the German "Sheryl Crow-Special Edition" 2CD.

Home (582 399 2; UK Single, 1997)

Home/Strong Enough/Sweet Rosalyn/I Shall Believe

"Sweet Rosalyn" is from the Shepherds Bush Empire in 1996. "Strong Enough" and "I Shall Believe" are live versions from WXRT radio. All tracks (except for "Home") are unavailalbe elsewhere. This is a digipack.

Home (582 401 2; UK Single, 1997)

Home/Hard To Make A Stand/Can't Cry Anymore/Redemption Day

"Home" is the LP version. The other tracks, unavailable elsewhere, are live from WXRT radio.

Home (044 031 2; UK Single, 1997)

Home/CD ROM of "Home" video

Musically, not necessary, but marks the only commercial release of the "Home" music video, albiet in a format that leaves much to be desired.

Tomorrow Never Dies (582 457 2; UK Single, 1997)

Tomorrow Never Dies/The Book/No One Said It Would Be Easy/Ordinary Morning

The version of "Tomorrow Never Dies" on this disc is the full length version from the soundtrack to the film. The other tracks are in the same versions as on their respective albums.

Tomorrow Never Dies (004 067 2; UK Single, 1997)

Tomorrow Never Dies/video on enhanced CD

Track two is the "Tomorrow Never Dies" video, playable on a computer in the same way as the "Home" (044 031 2) single video. This CD is necessary musically, as it is the only commercial release of the "radio fade" of "Tommorow Never Dies", regardless of the fact that the track is listed as the "full length version". This edit is also on the US (AMPCD 00555) and UK (588 556 2) promo singles.

My Favorite Mistake (582 761 2; UK Single, 1998)

My Favorite Mistake/In Need/Carolina

This digipack includes the version of "In Need" previously issued on the US soundtrack to the film "Hope Floats". "Carolina" is on the Japanese version of "The Globe Sessions".

My Favorite Mistake (582 763 2; UK Single, 1998)

My Favorite Mistake/Subway Ride/Crash And Burn

A musically unnecessary single, as all tracks are on "The Globe Sessions". "Subway Ride" is not listed as being on any copies of "The Globe Sessions", but it is there, on the same track as "Crash And Burn", after a roughly 15 second pause.

There Goes The Neighborhood (582 809 2; UK Single, 1998)

There Goes The Neighborhood/You Always Get Your Way/Hard To Make A Stand

This version of "There Goes The Neighborhood" is called "Radio Edit #1" and is on all promos and both versions of the single. "You Always Get Your Way" is a "The Globe Sessions" outtake, only available on this CD, and "Hard To Make A Stand" is live from the Mark Goodier Show on BBC radio. It is also called the "Wise Buddah" version. The last two tracks on this single are only available here.

There Goes The Neighborhood (582 807 2; UK Single, 1998)

There Goes The Neighborhood/Straight To The Moon/My Favorite Mistake

Another release of the "Radio Edit #1" for the title track. The other two tracks are exclusively on this CD. "Straight To The Moon" is a "The Globe Sessions" outtake, featuring the backing track to "Resuscitation", but completely different lyrics and middle eight. This version of "My Favorite Mistake" is another "Wise Buddah" version, from the Mark Goodier Show on BBC radio. There is a Japanese slimcase of this, catalogue number POCM 1270, the same as the UK issue, except with an obi strip.

There Goes The Neighborhood (588 628 2; UK Promo Single, 1998)

There Goes The Neighborhood/There Goes The Neighborhood

Includes "Radio Edit #1" on the track, as well as the shorter "Radio Edit #2", also on the much harder to find US promo for this track, but called "Radio Edit" on that disc. Features an interesting black and white cover.

Anything But Down (CROW 2;UK Promo Single, 1999)

Anything But Down

This promo is presently the only source for the UK single edit of ABD, which trims about 20 seconds. This edit did not appear on either of the "Anything But Down" singles, but, if there is a US commercial release, it may be on there. It is not on the promotional US single, though.

Anything But Down (582 827 2; UK Single. February 22, 1999)

Anything But Down/Leaving Las Vegas (live)/Mississippi

This single features a live version of "Mississippi" from the Mark Goodier Show, and a live performance of "Leaving Las Vegas", from Toronto (the Trinity Church Sessions). Both of these tracks are unavailable elsewhere. Also, the LP version of the title track is on this disc.

Anything But Down (582 829 2; UK Single. February 22, 1999)

Anything But Down/Run Baby Run/Riverwide

This single features a previously unissued live version of "Run Baby Run", recorded in Milan (not the same as the Pavarotti and Friends for War Child one), the (also previously unissued) Mark Goodier Show version of "Riverwide" and the LP version of the title track.

Anything But Down (582 835 2; German Single. February 22, 1999)

Anything But Down/Leaving Las Vegas (live in Toronto)/Riverwide (live Wise Buddah)/My Favorite Mistake (video)

This German single, using the same art as part one of the UK ABD sigles, features one rare track taken from each, as well as the video of "My Favorite Mistake", already issued on US copies of THE GLOBE SESSIONS. This release is quite pointless unless you are either a completist or you (for some inexplicable reason, since all three ABD's are still in print) can't find the other two singles.

Sweet Child O' Mine (Columbia 667 888 2; UK Single, August 23, 1999)

Sweet Child O' Mine/If It Makes You Happy/A Change

Nothing interesting here at all. The LP versions of the SC tracks, and SCOM from TGS US reissue.

Sweet Child O' Mine (Columbia 667 888 5; UK Single, August 23, 1999)

Sweet Child O' Mine/Leaving Las Vegas/Leaving Las Vegas (video)

Originally scheduled to include the "Rock Mix" of the track, this single features the standard version yet again, making the US two track Amercian Records promo more and more desirable all the time. The odd part is including a five year old video for LLV. It would be the first time a TNMC video has ever appeared on a CD, but, as usual, it is in that choppy CDROM format.

Sweet Child O' Mine (Australian Single, September 6, 1999)

Sweet Child O' Mine/If It Makes You Happy/A Change Would Do You Good

Apparently, this Australian release was a clone of the UK CD 1 release, (with a slightly different cover) contrary to previous reports that it would be its own unique CD. If you've got a version that isn't a clone, let me know Aussies!

Soak Up The Sun (European/Japanese single, March 25 2002)

Soak Up The Sun (radio edit)/Chances Are/You're Not The One/Soak Up The Sun (full length version)

Two exclusive tracks ("Chances Are" and "You're Not The One") adorn this, the first single to the C'mon , C'mon CD.

Foreign LPs

Tuesday Night Music Club (Brazilian, 1993)

[bonus track]All By Myself

The Brazillian version of this LP is another source for "All By Myself". Probably easier to find the singles it is on.

Tuesday Night Music Clun (540 435 2; Australian, 1993?)

[bonus tracks]I'm Gonna Be A Wheel Someday/Volvo Cowgirl 99/Reach Around Jerk

Some Australian versions of the LP include these studio bonus tracks. Probably not worth bothering with, unless you can't find the original "What I Can Do For You" with the studio version of "Volvo Cowgirl 99".

Tuesday Night Music Club "Australian Tour Edition" (540 348 2; Australian 2CD, 1995)

[bonus disc includes]Can't Cry Anymore/Reach Around Jerk/Strong Enough/Leaving Las Vegas/I Shall Believe

This CD features a bonus disc with five tracks recorded live in Nashville. "I Shall Believe" was originally on the UK single "Leaving Las Vegas (part one) (580 645 2). "Leaving Las Vegas" is on part two of that set (580 647 2). "Can't Cry Anymore", "Reach Around Jerk", and "I Shall Believe" are all on the UK Run Baby Run, part one single (581 147 2). This version of "Strong Enough" is also on part two of the "Run Baby Run" set (581 149 2). The Japanese double CD of this album (POCM 9009/10) features the same live bonus disc as this Australian release.

Tuesday Night Music Club "Strictly Limited Edition" (540 126 2/540 368 2; UK 2CD, 1995)

[bonus disc includes]Reach Around Jerk/Can't Cry Anymore/What I Can Do For You/No One Said It Would Be Easy/Leaving Las Vegas/Volvo Cowgirl

This bonus disc includes six tracks recorded live at the Shepherds Bush Empire in 1994. Only "What I Can Do For You" and "I Shall Believe" are available elsewhere, on the US "Can't Cry Anymore" single (31458 1081 2). "I Shall Believe" is also on the UK "Can't Cry Anymore (581 057 2) single.

Tuesday Night Music Club (540 126-2/525 829-2; Singapore, 1995)

[bonus disc includes]Can't Cry Anymore/Leaving Las Vegas/Run Baby Run/The Na Na Song/Strong Enough/All I Wanna Do

This 2CD TNMC features a bonus disc with six tracks recorded live at the Hard Rock Cafe in Singapore in May of 1995. These tracks are unavailable on any other release, and thi CD is now near impossible to find.

Tuesday Night Music Club (540 381 2; Spain, 1995)

[bonus disc includes]Can't Cry Anymore/Leaving Las Vegas/Run Baby Run/The Na Na Song/Strong Enough/All I Wanna Do

This bonus disc features six tracks recorded live in Spain in May of 1995. These are recorded as 40 Principales studios, and not the same as the Spanish live tracks on the "What I Can Do For You" with the calendar.

Sheryl Crow (54 719 2; German, 1996)

[bonus tracks]Sad Sad World/Hard To Make A Stand (alternate version)

This German issue of "Sheryl Crow" includes two bonus tracks, both available elsewhere. "Sad Sad World" is on the UK single "Hard To Make A Stand" (582 149 2) as well as both US commercial singles for "Everyday Is A Winding Road", and the Japanese "Sheryl Crow" (POCM 1200), the Australian "Sheryl Crow-Signature Tour Edition" 2CD and the German "Sheryl Crow-Special Edition" 2CD (see below). This alternate of "Hard To Make A Stand" is on both of the above 2CD editions of "Sheryl Crow" as well as a UK "Hard To Make A Stand" single (582 147 2).

Sheryl Crow (UK, 1996)

[bonus track]Free Man

This bonus track is on the Japanese edition of the album (POCM 1200) as well as a German "Everyday Is A Winding Road" single (582 049 2)

Sheryl Crow (POCM 1200; Japanese, 1996)

[bonus tracks]Sad Sad World/Free Man

See the above two entries for complete information on where to find these two tracks.

Sheryl Crow "Special Edition" (54 0719 2; German 2CD, 1997)

[bonus disc includes]If It Makes You Happy/Leaving Las Vegas/Hard To Make A Stand/Can't Cry Anymore/Everyday Is A Winding Road/On The Outside

This CD, as well as including the two bonus tracks from the regular German release (see above), features six tracks live from the Shepherds Bush Empire in 1996. Tracks 2, 4, and 5 are on the UK "A Change Would Do You Good" (582 217 2) single, while the remainder are on a different "A Change Would Do You Good" (582 209 2). "On The Outside" is also on the US four track "Everyday Is A Winding Road" (31458 2033 2). This CD is also available as the Australian "Signature Tour Edition", including the two German bonus tracks on the first CD.

The Globe Sessions (POCM 1253; Japan, 1998)

[bonus tracks]Carolina/Resuscitation

This Japanese CD features two bonus tracks, both on something else. "Carolina" is on the UK "My Favorite Mistake" (582 761 2), while "Resuscitation" is on virtually all copies of "The Globe Sessions" not issued in the US. In The US, it is on the soundtrack to the "The Faculty" various artists CD (Columbia Records CK 69762).

The Globe Sessions (540 974 2; UK (and others), 1998)

[bonus track]Resuscitation

See "The Globe Sessions" Japanese version entry for information.

The Globe Sessions "Tour Edition" ( 2CD, Germany. February 1, 1999)

[bonus disc includes]A Change Would Do You Good/Riverwide/It Don't Hurt/Strong Enough/The Difficult Kind/Everyday Is A Winding Road

This bonus disc includes six tracks recorded live in Toronto at the end of 1998, at the "Trinity Church Sessions", from which 11 Sheryl tracks were broadcast in January 1999 on US radio. It is unkown whether A&M plans to release the rest of this excellent show, but a version of the ABD single includes "Leaving Las Vegas", also from this show. An identical Australian release was also issued.

Barring any rush releases or cancellations (or, of course, errors/ommissions) that takes us through to March, 2002. Watch this space for updates as A&M (actually, now Interscope) starts cranking out the new C'mon, C'mon stuff and other Sheryl Crow material...
